Verses From Scripture
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To the chief
Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after
he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy
loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot
out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:
that thou might be justified when thou speak and be clear when thou
judge.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, thou desires truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part
thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter
than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken
may rejoice.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in
me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not
away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free
spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted
unto thee.
Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my
tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.
For you desire not sacrifice; else would I give it: you delight not in
burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise.
Psalm 51:1-17

Search
me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way
everlasting.
Psalm
139:23-24
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you not known?
have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD,
the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding.
He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases
strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall
utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31

They shall perish, but thou shalt endure:
yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou
change them, and they shall be changed:
Psalm
102:26
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as
God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and
their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like
to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping
things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their
own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Romans 1:21-25

There
is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another
glory of the stars: for one star differs from another star in glory.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is
raised in incorruption:
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it
is raised in power:
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a
natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last
Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural;
and afterward that which is spiritual.
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from
heaven.
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the
heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image
of the heavenly.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom
of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal
shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying
that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ.
1Corinthians 15:41-57

Now the
Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is
liberty.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the
Spirit of the Lord.
2Corinthians 3:17,18

(For
many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping,
that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in
their shame, who mind earthly things.)
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the
Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his
glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to
subdue all things unto himself.
Philippians 3:18-21
