Verses From Scripture

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If You LORD, should mark our iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.
 I wait for You LORD, my soul does wait daily and in Your Word do I hope.

Psalm 130:3-5

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Then Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
Him hath God exalted with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
 And we are his witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Act 5:29-32

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

     But He, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 And I said, Who are You, Lord? And He said, I am Jesus whom you persecute.
 But rise, and stand upon your feet: for I have appeared unto you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of these things which you have seen and of those things in the which I will appear unto you;
 Delivering you from the people and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send you,
 To open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me.

Acts 26:15-18

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Grace be to you and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
                        Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings                 in heavenly places in Christ:
             According as He has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame            before Him in Love:
 Having pre-destinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His Will,
To the praise of the glory of His Grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
 In whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His Grace;

Ephesians 1:2-7

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
                  That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing                    in the knowledge of God;
 Strengthened with all might, according to His Glorious Power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
 Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His Dear Son:
 In whom we have redemption through His Blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 1:9-15
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Give us this day our daily bread.
 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
 But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 6:11-15
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think you evil in your hearts?
 For whether is easier, to say, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and walk?
          But that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, then He said to the sick of the palsy,               Arise, take up your bed, and go unto your house.
 And he arose, and departed to his house.

Matthew 9:4-7

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
 Jesus said unto him, I say not unto you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Matthew 18:21,22
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
 Be you therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned: forgive, and you shall be forgiven:
 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you give out so it shall be measured to you again.

Luke 6:35-38
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
                And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to saying, I repent; You shall forgive him.

Luke 17:3,4
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Luke 23:34
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm [your] love toward him.
 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
 To whom you forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

2Corinthians 2:8-10
